The incorporation of technology in the 21st century has brought about significant changes in the field of education, changing the structure and dynamics of both traditional and online learning environments. I have always been intrigued by the various ways in which technology enhances the process of learning. During my tenure as an educator, I incorporated accessible technology into my teaching approaches, thus enhancing the efficacy of instruction by offering a wide array of educational resources across various subjects.
Seeing the effects of even minimal technological tools in synchronous classroom environments proved to be amazing. Within a short period of class time, the incorporation of these educational tools resulted in noticeable improvements in the academic achievements of my students.
The first semester of the eLearning design and training program has proven to be a genuinely transformative experience, fostering the development of my technological proficiency and expertise. The comprehensive curriculum not only introduced but also fostered the utilization of a range of free online applications. Interestingly, almost every course provided the chance to experiment with and learn how to use several kinds of software, such as Padlet, Kahoot, Canva, Adobe Express, Wix, and H5P.
The assignment in Professor Lois's class was to use Adobe Express to make a video on 'What I Love.' This task was a wonderful exploration of Adobe Express. I discovered new video-making and editing skills as I explored the software. The task let me express my creativity and taught me about Adobe Express's video editing and design capabilities. In addition, Professor Ruth's e-portfolio assignment introduced Canva, Wix, and Weebly. Building my e-portfolio gave me practical knowledge of these sites and allowed me to choose the best for my work.
Despite not having achieved proficiency in all the software, the opportunity to explore and utilize these tools gives a sense of satisfaction and enhances my motivation to pursue further knowledge and delve into their complexities. The ETIS program has been crucial in developing my interest in how technology could be used in learning design. I'm determined to apply this knowledge in the future to elevate my teaching methods and create more engaging experiences for my learners. I am enthusiastic about designing educational experiences that engage and empower learners, utilizing the vast potential of technology to revolutionize the field of education within a constantly evolving digital environment.
